The brief.

QBuild tendered the project and MDB was the successful builder, but the tendered price came in over the available budget. Without savings, the project could not proceed.

Our approach.

MDB worked directly with QBuild to review the scope and find savings, bringing the price back within budget. On that basis, QBuild awarded MDB the contract. Covers were added to the new walkways during construction, giving students and staff shelter between buildings.

The result.

Kilkivan State School now has two covered walkways, upgraded sports court facilities, and new accessible toilets in Block C. Construction finished on time on 5 September 2025.
